Our Parent Company, MPI WJW, was founded in 1979 in Neenah, WI by business partners Wayne Obry, John Kies, and Bill Murphy. In the 40+ years that followed they build MPI into one of the most capable automotive restoration companies in the world. Wayne became a leading Vintage Ferrari consultant as well as a lifetime judge for the International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the Ferrari Automobiles or IAC/PFA. The company solidified there reputation with the first ever 100-point Ferrari at Pebble Beach with a 1953 Ferrari 212 Inter PininFarina Coupe #0263 EU in 1993. The company didn’t stop there and has become a major influence in vintage restoration with cars competing at events such as the Cavallino Classic, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Vintage Ferraris had no trouble making their way to Wisconsin, however there was always a dream to go West where a new generation of car enthusiasts were bringing about a major change to the automotive lifestyle. A member of that passionate generation Robert “Bear” Bloomquist approached Bill with an idea, to launch a new company out of Salt Lake City to connect the West Coast and its new generation of cars to the services MPI had built over the last 40+ years. With that MOTION GARAGE was founded to provide Luxury and Exotic Car Dealership services and back up those sales with access to any automotive services our customers could need.
